Gender and HIV
The concept paper for this project was developed and forwarded to the HOD Research for approval. The concept paper had outlined the methodology and designed the instrument for data collection. The concept paper has detailed where the study would be conducted and needs to be looked at with the budget which outlines some of the activities that should occur, such as the number of focus group discussions to be facilitated. For the proper implementation of the project it was suggested that the CGE work very closely with municipalities in study sites outlined in the concept paper. In the case of Umkhanyakude there are several organizations that the CGE can collaborate with, such as Sibambisene, due to their co-ordination of HIV issues in Umkhanyakude District. In March 2007, preparations were undertaken in respect of the Gender and HIV/AIDS dialogue which took place 9 April 2008.
